One Mother talked to Hannah and she said that the classes would be $15.00/month per child.
Hello! My name is Hannah Greene. I am wondering if there might be some homeschool groups with families who are looking for a piano teacher or might be interested in doing a choir and drama.
A little of my background:
I grew up in Aurora and was homeschooled most of my life. My parents are Steve and Yvonne Dodge, who run a homeschool group in Aurora. I taught choir and drama for three years for their homeschool group until I got married a year ago and moved up to Boulder. Now that I am settled into my new home, I would like to start teaching piano lessons again and perhaps choir and drama if there is an interest. I wanted to talk to homeschoolers first so that I could teach during the day and still be able to spend time with my husband in the evenings. I am attending school for both music and theater so my time is limited.

and more information:
Some detail of what things would be like:
I have a piano policy for anyone interested, and that will have all
the info on prices and such... I teach either from my home or can drive to theirs. I teach beginners-intermediate and do 2 concerts a year. I have a church willing to let us use their facility for concerts and even perhaps lessons. They have a grand piano, which is so neat to play on!
When I taught before, my biggest group for both choir and drama was 30 children ages 5-18. I need at least 10 children to make a good group.
I would once again do both Christian and non-Christian songs with harmony and rounds. I would charge, just like any lessons, plus cost of the music. We would perform at 3-4 different nursing homes and veteran homes as an outreach and ministry to the elderly (which I think is wonderful for the children to do and the senior citizens LOVE the attention). We would perform on "off-seasons" meaning not holidays. The nursing homes tend to get a lot of performances and attention during that time, but none on the off season, so I like to try to balance that out... and they appreciate it. Then we would have an end-of-the-year performance for family and friends.
The drama would start with just basics of acting and speaking loud and then do some short skits. The two classes would be taught separately and paid for separately, but I would teach them on the same day right after each other so that families doing both can consolidate their time. (I might even do a discount for families doing both.) We would perform in nursing homes with the choir and then also have an end-of-the-year performance.
I do have a couple churches in Westminster that might be willing to let me use their facility to practice in. One on 120th and the other on 112th off of Sheridan. I would like to teach on Thursday or Friday morning and it would look something like this:
Choir 10:30-11:30
Lunch Break
Drama 12:00-1:00
Please let me know if there is an interest and then I'll put
together more info, i.e.. date, times, place, prices... I would like
to start sometime in September, practice through March, break for holidays, and then perform end of March-April. Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions!
Thank you!
